The tactical and ever so nail-biting strategy game is back as Firaxis and 2K Games revealed XCOM 2 prior to E3 2015. Now players will be able to experience the deaths of even more comrades as their memorial continues to grow. While Enemy Unknown was a surprise hit, Firaxis is looking to up their game by introducing procedural maps, mods and even more to this PC exclusive. During our time at E3 this year, we sat down with Art Director Greg Foertsh at Firaxis Games to talk about their upcoming title.

The coolest non-hero class, the Ranger wields both a shotgun and a sword and can make great use of both. The Ranger has two ability trees that give it either great damage or great utility, and a mix of both is also a real possibil

Players of grand strategy games might have heard of Endless Legend. Moreover, it’s perhaps one of the most interesting fantasy-science fiction 4X titles to have graced the PC. In this game, players end up as one of the many remnants of races in a changing Auriga. The game features 14 playable factions, with five others in expansi

A reveal trailer was shown in 2010 to mixed reception. Fans thought the game was not true to the XCOM name with aliens being black blobs of goo instead of classical extraterrestrials. With the game’s development in trouble, 2K Marin oversaw the development and overhauled the game to The Bureau that XCOM fans know today. If it wasn’t for this redesign, the game would likely never have relea

Personally, the Ranger is more of my personality. We’re also showing some of the character customization with the hood and some of that stuff. There are some significant things you can do to customize your character to make them feel more personal.

Of course, it would be impossible to talk about Nintendo Switch games in the same vein as Project Triangle Strategy without mentioning the masterpiece that is Octopath Traveler . The 2.5D art style is one of the major draws of the game, making for a unique experience that is bound to satiate any fan of old-school JR

Many would consider Specialists to be lackluster, considering they have few damaging abilities to match the likes of Rangers of Sharpshooters. However, they exist to provide support for your team through healing effects and stat buffs, something that you’ll almost always need despite being slightly unexcit

However, just like in Enemy Unknown, Sharpshooters in XCOM 2 are built with a singular purpose: kill everything on your screen. Snipers get this done with high-damage sniper rifles that are deadly accurate, and their inherent Squadsight ability means you can often do this without putting them in danger. Not only are they deadly, but you can put them in places where they’re almost always unable to be kil

Few games can get as intense as an ironman run of XCOM . This turn-based strategy game is all about fighting aliens with personalized soldiers in strategic combat. Unique classes exist that grant unique abilities to even the o

A lot of that stuff we’re working through, but with the Avenger, it’s a smaller, compressed space, and it’s named after The Avenger in the original game. UFO Defense, not The Avengers. laughs It’s like I have to point that out. All the people who haven’t played the original game don’t know it’s from the original XCOM. But, the whole strategy side is really cool and something we’re ironing out and going to talk about that a lot later.

Fans have been clamoring for Persona 5 to come on the Switch for the longest time. While Persona 5 Strikers might not be the exact game they were hoping for, it’s still a brilliant title that combines the mechanics of Dynasty Warriors with Persona 5 ‘s combat for some truly brilliant

So the parcel will drop down in their locations with different kinds of things and different sizes to them, and they’re not all the same size, and it will pull for pools. It will be intelligent where you can say only use from these, and then on the roads it stitches down its own sub-procedural level. It’s super flexible. And again, you can make it 100% procedural or you can change it. It’s completely up to the modder and up to us as developers, Slgnewshub.Com like all of our stuff is procedural, even the narrative stuff. I’m really happy with that system and, getting back to your question, it really lead us to that inspiration. At the end of the day that’s what we were focused on and the modding community is great on PC. I hope it gets more robust and flexible on consoles, but that’s where it was when we made that decision.

That is because XCOM 2 lies to the player about a character’s hit percentage. In actuality, the game gives players a much higher chance of hitting than what’s on display. On easier difficulty settings, an 85% chance is closer to a 95% chance according to an interview with Jake Solomon , the lead designer for XCOM 2 . As for why 100% hits can miss, the game rounds up if a shot has half of a percent chance or higher of hitting. Don’t expect this sort of percentage leniency on Legendary difficulty , however, as this percentage favoritism towards the player is disabled on higher difficulty settiSLG (small leather goods) ARE A WASTE OF MONEY…
