This new Battlefield will come alongside FIFA 22 and Madden NFL 22 as major launches in the 2022 fiscal year, on top of other «new and ongoing live services and other titles.» This will follow the release of new content «across a broad range of genres» that will invest in Sony’s PlayStation 5 and Microsoft’s Xbox Series X in the 2021 fiscal year; including four sports games, four games from older properties, four global releases of titles from smaller developers, and two new mobile ga
Electronic Arts is planning to release the next installment of its first-person shooter franchise Battlefield on next-generation consoles in the 2022 fiscal year according to EA’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen. The confirmation comes in prepared remarks from EA’s 2020 third quarter fiscal earnings call by Jorgensen, Chief Executive Officer Andrew Wilson, and Vice President of Investor Relations Chris Evendan that were released Thurs
On the other hand, Battlefield has been in a bit of a slump with the lackluster release of Battlefield 5 . Unfortunately the game simply suffered under its own ambition in a lot of ways. Whether it was under-delivering with its expansion schedule or over-promising with its Firestorm battle royale, Battlefield 5 puts the series in a tough bind. It’s very possible that the next Battlefield entry will need to return to the drawing board. That being said, Battlefield 6 is in development for PS5/Xbox Series X , so DICE is still mounting a comeback for the ser
With the latest Call of Duty taking a Battlefield -like approach to certain modes, with vehicles and larger scale play via Combined Arms, it will be interesting to see if the Battlefield series changes further or sticks to its guns. While fans can expect large-scale gameplay and some level of destruction, as those are core elements of Battlefield ’s DNA, little else is known about the next game in the series. With opportunities for a futuristic setting in Battlefield 2143 , a follow-up to Bad Company 2 , or a return to modern day Battlefield action, anything is possible for DICE’s current Battlefield proj
The next Battlefield game may have some stiff competition in the future, especially with Battlefield 5 ‘s support ending this summer . There are a few key areas that DICE and EA could explore and change to bring the series back, hopefully bringing back a time where the » Call of Duty vs. Battlefield » arguments return. Until then, fans will have to see what’s in store for battlefield 2042 leveling Guide|https://battlefield2042hq.com/ 6 in the fut
For right now, Call of Duty has had much more momentum moving into the next year than it’s ever had before. Largely in thanks to Warzone ‘s surprising success , as well as Modern Warfare ‘s praise upon release and continued success, the franchise finds itself in somewhat of a peak. But, like every year, Call of Duty will be prepping for a 2020 annual release. Rumors have been flying for 2020’s Call of Duty game from a variety of leaks detailing what to expect, with little corroboration and the lack of an official announcement from Activision. That being said, 2020’s Call of Duty will still need to follow up and top Modern Warfare in some
It’s a bit of an abstract concept, but Battlefield has consistently focused on a strictly historical/realistic perspective in its most recent iterations. That alone isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it does make for a less creative or unique identity for Battlefield . At least in terms of gaming, it very quickly becomes just another game about the horrors of war, and less about people playing this game for entertainment. Future Battlefield games don’t need to necessarily go crazy and be super campy like Bad Company , but for lack of a better expression, Battlefield shouldn’t take itself too seriously. War is scary, but Battlefield should be fun first and forem
One thing in particular that newer Battlefield titles seem to gloss over is the potential in functionally destructible environments . Sure, every Battlefield game since Bad Company has featured highly destructible environments, but never as functionally important as the first few iterations. Destruction quickly became a defining difference between Battlefield and Call of Duty , but future iterations have subdued the importance of destruction. Earlier titles like Battlefield 1942 and Battlefield 2 featured destruction in a limited form, only allowing for certain geometry (like bridges) to be destroyed while the rest of the landscape remained unchanged. With the advent of the Frostbite engine, Battlefield games were able to craft near-fully destructible environments for all geometry and not just certain obje
Team composition and/or dedicated roles in Call of Duty multiplayer is a very rare thing. Average players will stick to their favorite guns and perks in Modern Warfare , and the match will play out to various results. It’s a highly open-ended approach that’s proved to be the boon of the franchise thus far, but Battlefield handles things a bit more traditiona
