Battlefield 6 looking back to a game that is widely regarded as the peak of the series is promising for several reasons. While it was interesting to see the Battlefield series bring World War 1 to life, and take a shot at interpreting World War 2, it is hard to top the winning combination of large-scale warfare and the modern era. However, Battlefield 3 is remembered fondly for more than just having an appropriate setting, and Battlefield 6 can find success by reintroducing several things from the classic
Perhaps most importantly, staying away from battle royale modes in Battlefield 6 will play to DICE’s strengths. Firestorm’s development was largely outsourced to another studio, so instead of spreading out development, it’d be better if Battlefield 6 was authentically DICE’s own. DICE has years of experience in providing its players with immersive wartime simulations. Battle royale games are fundamentally different from the brand of gameplay that Battlefield has built a reputation on, so maybe it doesn’t need to master this particular genre. There’s lots of ways to make a good shooter without always implementing a battle royale offer
Battlefield 5 is only a couple years old, but lots of fans are ready for Battlefield 6 this year. What’s more, EA and DICE seem ready to take another crack at the franchise. Battlefield 5 had been going strong with DLCs for a couple of years, but the developers say that the game wasn’t as successful upfront as they hoped. DICE had done well supporting the game in the meantime, so there’s a fan base ready to carry over into Battlefield 6 . Details on the next game are supposedly coming up this spring, so fans have time to speculate on what DICE is going to take or leave from the last g
Henderson also notes that the game will feature cross-play between all platforms, possibly including last-gen. This would make a lot of sense given other shooters like Call of Duty have greatly succeeded by doing this. With player counts doubling, there will also need to be far more players to matchmake with to ensure matches are filling up properly. There will also be a free-to-play component, likely battle royale, and a system called «Units» which combines multiple squads together to complete objectives more eas
EA has somewhat confirmed some of this information already. At their recent earnings call with investors, the company confirmed Battlefield 6 would have more players than ever before as well as having maps with unprecedented scale. The game is also confirmed to take things like destruction and player agency to another level. It sounds highly likely that a lot of this is very true but of course, take it with a grain of salt for now. **Battlefield 6 ** will officially be revealed this spring and will release on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The game will also be reportedly coming to Xbox One and PS4 as w
There is a lot to love about Battlefield 1 , ranging from the unique weaponry to a fun uses of horses as «vehicles.» The Operations mode was particularly run, with unforgettable moments like the arrival and destruction of a Zeppelin making the World War 1 shooter’s multiplayer stand out from previous entries in the series. Battlefield 1 offered a solid campaign offering, too, as it was the first game to introduce players to the War Stories. Essentially short stories that told unique tales from across The Great War, ranging from a cocky fighter pilot to a stressed-out tank crew, these small collections of missions stuck with players after they were complete. Highlighting the horrors of World War 1 while simultaneously showing respect for those who served, Battlefield 2042 classes|Https://battlefield2042play.com/ 1 was one of the rare occasions where a Battlefield campaign was just as strong as the multipla
Following the bumpy release of Battlefield V , EA has been letting DICE really take its time with their new shooter. The last entry was rushed out the door and seemed to be capitalizing on the WWII zeitgeist that Call of Duty briefly created in 2017. As a result, it was buggy, underwhelming, and featured a lackluster post-launch battle royale mode that was also trying to follow trends. Despite selling over 7 million copies in 2018, it was deemed a commercial disappointment for EA. Needless to say, EA doesn’t want a repeat and are going all-in on Battlefield
That’s especially hard to guess considering how much Battlefield 5 was expanded post-launch. There’s tons of game modes and other content that DICE added, including a battle royale game mode. Battlefield 6 ‘s developer will surely consider every aspect of the last game, but it should drop Battlefield 5 ‘s Firestorm battle royale. That might seem counterintuitive, since battle royale games are still going strong right now, but it’s not what Battlefield 6 needs to succeed. There’s too many possibilities available to the game that would go to waste if DICE focused on making another battle royale m
Battlefield 6 will face exactly the same kind of competition if it tries to do another battle royale. In fact, it could do much worse than Firestorm, considering Apex Legends and Call of Duty: Warzone have had more than a year to stake a claim in the genre. There’s just not much point in Battlefield 6 trying to muscle in on that turf if it’s not completely devoted to the genre. Split focus between game modes will make it harder to ensure a theoretical sequel to Firestorm is special enough to make a dent alongside the battle royale giants. Theoretically speaking, DICE has better things to focus on right
