Bethesda has consistently made headlines over the last few months. The biggest shock came in September of last year when it was revealed that Microsoft had agreed to acquire ZeniMax Media in a deal worth $7.5 billion. This gave the Xbox parent company ownership not just of franchises such as Fallout , The Elder Scrolls , and DOOM but also of famous developers like Bethesda Game Studios and id Software. Now, it seems that Microsoft will also reap the benefits of Bethesda’s foray into AAA licensed games, a future many could have not foreseen of the RPG stu
A pair of screenshots purportedly from Bethesda’s long-in-development Starfield has surfaced online. It is the next game from Bethesda Game Studios, the internal studio behind such games as Fallout 3 and 4 and every entry in The Elder Scrolls series. Announced with little more than a logo during their E3 2018 showcase, Starfield is purported to be Skyrim in space, taking Bethesda’s open-world formula to the sci-fi realm in ways not satisfied by their entries in the Fallout ser
Bethesda has confirmed that it is fully focused on the development of both Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI . Replying to fan concerns on Twitter about the fact that Todd Howard is involved with too many projects, Bethesda Senior VP of Marketing Pete Hines reassured them that those two titles are still his main priority. Howard, who has helped to lead both the Fallout and The Elder Scrolls series for more than a decade, also has roles in several other projects according to Hines. But both he and Bethesda as a whole are committed to finishing up work on the two high-profile games. The communications executive promised that recent announcements will not affect the development of either g
With Bethesda seemingly involved in a growing number of major projects, including a Fallout television show, fans can’t be blamed for growing worried about progress on Starfield and The Elder Scrolls VI , especially when the company has been so quiet about the two far-off titles. Hopefully, this confirmation from the studio will reassure players that Bethesda has not lost sight of what they value m
A supposed leak of Starfield screenshots may have just been verified by the unlikeliest of sources: a t-shirt worn by a Bethesda developer. The screenshots in question leaked in September, offering a brief glimpse at a possible player character, a spaceship design, and the HUD of Starfield planets|Https://Starfieldgalaxy.Com/ . Bethesda has neither confirmed nor denied the validity of the leak to d
In Skyrim, you could become almost anything and everything at the same time, and in Fallout: New Vegas , your allegiances determined what direction that story would ultimately go in. Bethesda needs to take those two things and apply and refine them for the world at large. If I join the Dark Brotherhood, that should directly affect the way I’m seen by other people, factions, and individuals. Maybe the Thieves Guild doesn’t care that I’m an assassin on the sideline, but that also doesn’t mean I should so easily be welcomed amongst the Imperial forces. Small things like this break immersion and make me feel too powerful. Things like this remind me that I’m in a «game» world — a world that responds to me unnaturally — versus a world that feels alive and reacts ore noticeably to what I
Several images first posted to the infamous 4Chan message boards have been shared across social media (thanks, Okami13_ ), purported to be screenshots from a 2018 build of Starfield . The first image shows a third-person perspective on an futuristic-looking astronaut wielding a shotgun according to the game’s HUD, although the weapon is not seen on the player model. In addition to a health and stamina meter, there also appears to be a meter for oxygen, which would be a key component in any game that wants to realistically depict space exploration. The second image appears to be concept art of one of the game’s spaceships, and it certainly matches the space station briefly seen in the game’s official teaser trailer back in 2
Despite the increased amount of Starfield -related leaks, the game continues to remain a mystery. This disappointing situation, however, might change quite soon as Microsoft is reportedly planning to hold a Bethesda-related gaming event somewhere in the middle of March. It could be an excellent opportunity to reveal some enticing information about Bethesda’s future and its upcoming projects — including, of course, Starfield . The event is yet to be officially confirmed as it is just another insider statement at the mom
That made the potential Starfield screenshot leak this fall even more exciting, as it represented the first look at an otherwise mysterious project from one of the biggest game developers around. While their validity was called into question at the time, it now seems more likely that they were legitimate. That’s thanks to Bethesda managing director Ashley Cheng, who recently appeared in a montage from Develop:Brighton, where Todd Howard was accepting a Develop:Star Award. As spotted by Reddit user Rynderend , Cheng is seen wearing a Starfield shirt with a logo on the sleeve identical to the one shown on the character’s spacesuit in the leaked Starfield screenshot. The matching logos lend credence to the screenshot being real, as it would be quite the coincidence if Bethesda just happened to pick the same design for its Starfield merchand
